I got scuba certified a 3 years ago. I volunteer at a local science center and got a discount at the local dive shop. I asked my grandpa to pay for it for Christmas/My birthday. My first open water dive, doing the emergency ascent, my mouthpiece slipped from my mouth and I choked on water and had to be rescued. I had to do several more certification dives until I got it right. I haven’t dived since I got my cert, but I’d love to do it again.
